CMMOTA offers several membership categories to support students, emerging therapists, and practicing professionals in Massage Therapy (MT) and Manual Osteopathic Therapy (MOT). Please choose the membership type that best matches your current stage of education or practice.

Student Member (MT/MOT): For individuals currently enrolled in a recognized MT or MOT program who are completing their education and may require student insurance for supervised clinical/practicum hours.

Associate Member – Massage Therapy: For MT students in Alberta and Manitoba only, who have completed their first year and are enrolled in second year, and require membership and insurance coverage while progressing toward the 2,200-hour program requirement.

Full / RMT / Spa / MOT Memberships: For graduates of recognized MT or MOT programs who meet CMMOTA’s education requirements and require professional liability insurance for active practice.

Inactive / Emeritus For individuals who no longer require insurance coverage but wish to maintain an affiliation with the Association.

General Requirements - Application must:

  • Be a student or graduate of a recognized MT/MOT program (as applicable)
  • Provide a Vulnerable Sector Check completed within 90 days (not required for Student members until upgrading)
  • Agree to comply with CMMOTA bylaws and policies
  • Pay all required membership and/or insurance fees
  • Maintain CECs and insurance where applicable
